Minutes of meeting #01, Dated 5 July 2017
The high tea for the day was a delightful start for the evenings proceeding with a live Mongolian counter, served with fried wantons & a great desert with coffee /tea & cookies.
Rtn. Udaykumar (Sergent at Arms) did the Honor of Placing the Rotary Presidential color on the 33rd President of RCME Rtn. Purshotham who is also the First President of Rotary District #3232 at RCME. Rtn. Swaminathan was the day chair.
The meeting was called to called to order with a silent invocation. Rtn. Raghuram greeted the Birthday of Rotarians, Anns & Annette’s & their anniversaries.
Rtn. RMN gave an update on the installation Evening.
Rtn. Sujatha updated on the installations of interacts & Rotracts at various schools & colleges.
Rtn. Rajesh Bhathija gave an update on the 1st fellowship tour to Pondichery on 21 July’17”
The Guest of Honour for the evening was Rtn Bose President of RC of Ashoknagar
The chief guest was Mr. K Mahalingam of the TS Mahalingam & Sons. A Chemical Engineering Graduate from REC Trichy & Management from IIM-C.
A 3rd gen entrepreneur from the TSM family, he started in the family business of used car sales however the urge to do something bigger & better drew him into creating the Rupeezone an online venture into used car finance. He was successfully able to transform his family business dimensionally. The Company became a Financial Super store representing many leading lending Banks & Financial institutions in the Country selling multiple car brands which started with just 3 brands, Hindustan Motors, Maruti & Premier Automobiles.
He then started making strategic investments into businesses with future potential as an active angel investor and mentor for start ups.
He built Brand shelters in Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore in association with CitiBank which revolutionised home loan distribution in the country. He pioneered the concept of PROPSHOP or Property shows. Other brands he successfully created was India Homes & Auto Lines.
He continues in his endeavour to use technology based on his experience for sustainable growth by
– Playing to your strengths,
– sticking to core values,
– retaining key employees as asset base
– keeping a hawk eye on the distal marketing expenditure
– learning by objectivity, & recognising changing trends &
– playing by the rules help keep focus on growth.
Rtn. Papa Rao made his 1st announcement as Club Secretary. The day chair proposed the vote of thanks, and the meeting was adjourned.
